Name of the Project:   Ensuring Rights to Girls Domestic Worker-GDW (ERG)

Implementation period:  01 May, 2024 to 31 March, 2026.

Source of Fund:  SHAPLA NEER, Bangladesh.

Working area:  Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC). Mirpur, DNCC, Word no: 2 & 6 and Azimpur, DSCC, Word no: 26.

Coverage:

Target Group: [Direct beneficiary (08 to18 age group): 60 GDW (30 GDW x 2 centres)]

[Indirect beneficiary: 8000]

– Urban – 2700 (Parents – 100, employers – 200, community people

including different service providers – 2000 and students – 400)

– Rural – 5300 (Parents – 300 and community people – 5000)

Major activities:                      

In Urban area

Objective1: Employers are practicing GDW’s rights through positive mind set up.

Objective2: Urban Parents are responsible about their children for not engaging them as GDWs

Objective3: GDW are exercising their rights

Objective 4: Child domestic work is addressed as problem in the society

 In rural area

• 1. Case analysis at rural areas to know the situation of GDW
• 2. Organize meeting with guardian in village to aware them not to send their children at work.
• 3. Provide support for parents to link with Social Safety net program.
• 4. Encourage and support parents to register their children’s births in rural area.

Objective 6: Community people of rural area are aware on GDW issues

• 1. Linkage meeting with Education officer, Service provider for decreasing dropout.
• 2. Organize meeting with community people (UP members, school authority, religious leaders, social leaders, elite persons etc.) to raise awareness on GDW issue.
• 3. Organize campaign to raise awareness among community people
